스포츠교육학 : 스포츠교육학의 질적연구 경향 고찰 = Inquiry on Trend of Qualitative Research in Sport Pedagogy

The purposes of this study were to inquire the purpose of 10 qualitative research in two of the most noted journals in the field of sport pedagogy and to inquire the research techniques most frequently used in research works published in these two journals. The two journals being surveyed were Korean Journal of Sport Pedagogy and Journal of Teaching in Physical Education. These two journals were chosen, because they were highly respected by sport pedagogy researchers. Qualitative research on sport pedagogy had a very wide diversity of the purposes, but it had similar characteristics in which the main purposes were to understand the nature of the participants and/or to describe the perspective of the participants. All qualitative researches had applied various techniques to the data collection process. The qualitative data collection techniques described included field note, journal writing, interview(formal and informal), and document analysis. Also all qualitative researches had applied various techniques to the data analysis. The techniques were case study, deductive analysis, cross case study, and constant comparison technique. All qualitative researches tried to enhance validity and reliability by utilizing various techniques such as triangulation, member check, and peer-debriefing.
