초등학생의 학습부진에 대한 학생 및 학교수준의 결정요인 탐색 = The student- and school-level factors of underachievement to elementary students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Using a data from「Analysis on the Actual Status and Level of School Education in Korea: A Study on the Elementary Schools(Ⅱ)」by Korean Educational Development Institute, this research analyzes the effects of student- and school-level variables on underachievement of 6th grade students in elementary school with generalized hierarchical linear model. To investigate the determinants of underachievement, this study compares the characteristics of students who achieve learning objectives and underachievers, and then identifies the effects of students and school factors that cause academic underachievement. The result of analysis is that some of major academic achievement variables such as family background, learning attitude and pressure to achieve are ineffective to alleviate underachievement. Therefore, it is clear that specialized educational and political supports for certain group of students are necessary to alleviate underachievement. The analysis results also implies some suggestions when enforcing policies for underachievement.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초등학교 6학년의 학습부진에 영향을 미치는 학생 및 학교수준 변수의 영향력 분석을 목적으로 한국교육개발원의「학교 교육 실태 및 수준 분석: 초등학교 연구(Ⅱ)」의 자료를 활용하여 일반화 위계선형모형 분석을 수행하였다. 학습부진 결정요인 탐색을 위하여 학습목표에 도달한 학생과 학습부진학생의 특성을 비교하였으며, 학습부진을 유발하는 학생 및 학교요인의 영향력을 파악하였다. 분석 결과, 가정배경이나 학습태도, 성취압력 등 일반적으로 영향력이 있다고 알려진 학업성취도에 대한 주요 요인들이 학습부진 해소에 미치는 영향력은 다소 다른 양상으로 나타났다. 따라서 학습부진 해소를 위해서는 특정 집단 학생을 위한 특화된 교육적, 정책적 지원이 필요함을 입증하였다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 이와 같은 분석 결과가 학습부진 해소를 위한 정책 시행에 시사하는 바를 논의하였다.
