융의 분석심리학적 차원에서 본 직업인의 심리적 탈진에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Psychological Burnout of Teachers as Adult Workers Based on the Analytical Psychology

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 성인 직업인의 심리적 탈진에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어져왔으나, C. G. Jung의 분석심리학적 관점에서 성인 직업인, 교사의 심리적 탈진을 분석하고, 그 극복 가능성을 탐색하는 연구는 아직 출발점에 서 있는 것 같다. 한국의 특수한 교육현실에서 경험 할 수 있는 교사의 심리적 탈진의 중요한 원인 중의 하나가 Jung이 개념화한 "페르조나(Persona)" 와의 지나친 동일시에서 비롯된다는 것을 본 연구에서 제시하고 있다. 교사가 한국사회집단에서 요구하는 '교사상'만을 따르게 되면 자아는 자신의 내적인 정신세계와의 관계를 상실하게 되고, 그 결과 자아의식의 에너지는 고갈되고 지쳐버리게 된다. 교사가 탈진하게 되면 내안의 또 다른 인격은 교사로 하여금 '그 사람 자신'이 되게 하려는 움직임이 일어난다. 그러므로 교사가 심리적 탈진을 극복하기 위해서는 교사가 외부세계와 관계를 맺고 있는 교사 페르조나와의 동일시에서 어느 정도 벗어나야 한다. 따라서 탈진한 교사는 자신의 내면을 성찰하고, 내적인격인 무의식과의 관계를 회복함으로써 자아(ego)가 중심이 된 삶에서 자기(Self, 전체성)가 중심이 된 삶으로 변환하는 인격의 성숙을 스스로 경험하게 되는데, 그 과정을 Jung은 자기실현, 즉 개성화 과정이라고 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There have been much research done on adult workers' psychological burnout, but there has not been a study done from C. G. Jung's analytical psychology perspective. This study points out that teachers' psychological burnout originating from the educational reality in Korea results from teachers' excessive identification with the "persona" conceptualized by Jung. If the teachers follow only the "teacher's image" required by Korean society, they lose the relationship with their internal spiritual world and, as a result, run dry of all the energy of ego consciousness. When teachers are burnt out, their unconsciousness, which is their other personality, is inclined to make the teachers be "themselves". In order to overcome their burnout at this stage, they have to free themselves from their identification with the "teacher persona" of the outside world and have to be able to tell the difference between them. By examining their inner world and restoring their relationship with their unconsciousness, they come to experience the maturing process from an ego life to a Self(wholeness)-centered life. Jung refers to this process as self-actualization, namely, the individuation process.
