음악과 경영학 전공 대학생들의 전공선택요인 및 교과과정의 진로 적합도 비교분석 = Career Choice and Curriculum Applicability between Music and Business Majors in Korean Universities

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to compare the perceived factors that the influenced career choice and curriculum applicability toward the actual filed after graduation between music and business majors in Korean universities (n=178). The music majors indicated that they chose music as the college major because of their affection for music while job achievement and income were perceived as the least influential factors impacting their career choices. On the other hand, the business majors pointed out that job achievement and income were the most influential factors impacting the their career choices. Regarding their occupational expectation for the future career, there was a gap between music and business majors in that music majors rated curriculum applicability relatively low compared to business majors. This result indicated that colleges of music need to revise current curriculum for music majors in order to prepare for the future career. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for music majors and Korean universities.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학의 음악전공 재학생과 경영전공 재학생을 대상(n=178)으로 이들의 전공 선택 요인과 현재 공부하고 있는 대학의 교과과정에 따른 진로와의 적합성을 비교 조사하여, 음악대학과 음악전공자들에게 교과과정 개발 및 졸업 후 진로지도에 유용한 정보를 제공하는 것이다. 본 연구 결과, 음악전공 대학생들은 음악이 좋아서(흥미), 타고난 음악적 재능 등의 내적요인들에 의해 음악을 대학전공으로 선택하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 취업과 진로의 보장, 수입의 보장 등 현실적 직업요인들은 음악을 대학전공으로 선택하는데 크게 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며, 경영학 전공자들은 취업과 진로의 보장이 가장 큰 선택요인인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 한편, 실제 전공 선택에 있어서는 음악전공자들이 보다 큰 진로 장벽을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 학년이 올라갈수록 점차 진로의 문제를 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 교과과정 진로 적합도는 경영학 전공이 보다 높게 나타났고, 정규직 가능성 역시 경영학 전공자가 높게 나타났으나, 음악전공생들에게도 연주가 아닌 다른 분야의 직업적 수요가 있는 것으로 미루어보아, 이들에 대한 이해와 진로교육의 실천이 필요함을 발견하였다.
