지역 경쟁력 강화를 위한 에코뮤지엄 모델 적용 연구 = Study into the possibility of strengthening regional competitiveness by applying the Eco-museum model : focused on community activities of Jangsu&Bukjeong villages

국문 초록 (Abstract)

전 세계의 균질화가 이루어지는 글로벌의 흐름 속에서 각 지역이 가진 차별성은 세계로 뻗어나가며 소통되는 글로컬 시대의 경쟁력이 되었다. 이러한 변화 속에서 문화의 총체적 산물이자 지역의 정체성인 문화유산은 지역의 차별성을 구성하는 요소로 지역 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 자원이 되어 그 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 이에 따라 물리적 보존에서 더 나아가 지역 주민과의 맥락까지 보존하고 가치를 발전시킬 수 있는 방안 모색이 필요하다.
본 논문은 지역의 커뮤니티와 문화유산의 특성을 고려하여, 지역발전에 기여할 수 있는 방안으로 에코뮤지엄에 주목하고자 했다. 선행연구 검토를 통해 에코뮤지엄 형성을 위한 중요 요소를 도출하고 이를 기준으로 특정 지역에 에코뮤지엄 모델을 적용해 보았다. 에코뮤지엄이 형성되기 위해서는 문화유산과 활동 주체로서의 커뮤니티가 중요한데, 이 조건을 충족시키면서 적용 필요성이 있는 사례로 한양도성 성곽마을 중 두 곳인 장수마을과 북정마을에 주목했다. 두 마을에 에코뮤지엄 모델을 적용할 경우 문화유산의 특징에 따라 각각 차별적인 형태의 에코뮤지엄을 기대할 수 있었다. 문화유산 보존과 지역 발전을 동시에 도모할 수 있을 것으로 기대되는 에코뮤지엄은 마을만들기 사업이 펼쳐지며 커뮤니티가 형성되고 있는 현재에 그 이후를 고민하고 발전된 형태를 모색한다는 의의를 지닐 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this global era, for a region to possess a uniqueness of local character has become a competition to try to increase tourism numbers by displaying heritage as a fruit of culture and local identity. Therefore, beyond the physical preservation of our community’s heritage, it is necessary to seek ways to preserve traditions and heritage in the relation to its local population.
This paper will focus on using eco-museums as a way of preserving the value and context of local heritage and developing a competitiveness. After a close review of our research on the plausibility of such a model, the important elements for forming eco-museum were ascertained: strong heritage and proud communities. Jangsu and Bukjeong villages in Seoul both fulfill these conditions and were eligible to be studied under the eco-museum model. As a result of the application of our model to the two villages, we created different types of eco-museum based on the unique characteristics of the culture. With the aim of preserving the cultural heritage and the development of local development, the eco-museum model has the potential to play a huge part in the role of community building.
