This paper aims to suggest improvements for the residential intensive in-service English teacher training program which is held at Keimyung University based on several survey results. Although most trainees in this program provide positive reflections on the organization of our curriculums, the evaluation of teaching faculty, and the facilities in both the domestic and study abroad period, results suggest that we still need to develop curriculums focusing on improving trainees’ communicative language ability and teaching skills in future programs. Results also indicate that there is a need to hire or train good teaching faculty members in order to increase the quality of faculty teaching skills and classroom management. Some other suggestions for the improvement of the program are clearly outlined in the later part of this paper. To make this program successful for English teachers, it is essential to receive continuous support from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Department, local Offices of Education, and all English teachers in Korea.
