국내 대학생 핵심역량과 그 진단도구에 대한 연구동향 분석 = Analysis of the Research Trend on the College Students` Key Competencies and Diagnosis Tools

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to determine research trends regarding college students’ key competencies and relevant diagnosis tools and to present future challenges by exploring the limitations of concepts and characteristics of key competencies, as well as of the diagnosis tools. 34 papers published in major Korean academic journals from the year 2000 were analyzed. The main results are as follows. First, recent research into college students’ key competencies has increased since 2008, based on a theoretical and quantitative approach, and has focused on 4-year colleges and universities in the capital region. Second, college students’ key competencies have been be defined as the comprehensive system of the complex, diverse knowledge, skills and capacities within a college student. Third, the diagnosis tools of college students’ key competencies tend to apply to K-CESA(Korea Collegiate Essential Skills Assessment). Fourth, college students’ key competencies are context-specific and reflect the individual characteristics of students and the contexts and situations of particular higher education institutions. As a result, future research would benefit from being context-specific, qualitative, and inclusive of the dynamic characteristics and contexts of individual higher education institutions.
