사회적 지지 수준에 따른 아동의 자아존중감 및 주관적 안녕에 관한 연구 = Effects of Social Support Level on Children’s Self-Esteem and Subjective Well-being

This study aims to identify the effects of social support levels on children's self-esteem and subject well-being, and verify the relationships between self-esteem(whole, general, society, and school and home) and subject well-being(positive and negative efficacy, positive and negative emotion, positive and negative personal relations, and comprehensive satisfaction). 70 5th and 6th elementary school students participated in this study and the tests for social support, self-esteem, and subject well-being were carried out. Based on the data gathered, the mean and standard variation of the sub-elements of self-esteem and subject well-being were calculated and a multivariate analysis and a correlation analysis were operated. The results showed that social support levels had a statistically significant influence on self-esteem(p<.01) and subject well-being(p<.01). In addition, the results of the correlation analysis on the sub-elements of children's self-esteem and subject well-being showed positive or negative correlations. From the results, appropriate guidances for social support and its enhancement. should be given to elementary school students; from the elementary school period, children start to develop their self-esteem and form their subject well-being.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동기 사회적 지지 수준이 아동의 자아존중감 및 주관적 안녕에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고, 사회적 지지 수준에 따른 아동의 자아존중감(전체, 일반, 사회, 학교, 가정) 및 주관적 안녕(정적·부적 효능, 정적·부적 정서, 정적·부적 대인 관계, 포괄 만족) 하위 요인간의 관계를 검증하기 위해 이루어졌다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 5, 6학년 70명(남 29명, 여 41명)을 대상으로 사회적 지지, 자아존중감 및 주관적 안녕 검사를 실시하였다. 얻어진 자료를 바탕으로 자아존중감 및 주관적 안녕 하위 요인의 평균, 표준편차, 다변량분석, 상관분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 사회적 지지 수준은 아동의 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며(p<.01), 주관적 안녕에도 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다(p<.01). 또한, 사회적 지지 수준에 따른 아동의 자아존중감과 주관적 안녕의 하위 요인간 상관을 분석한 결과, 요인간 정적 혹은 부적 상관을 보였다. 연구 결과에 비추어 볼 때, 아동의 자아존중감 발달과 주관적 안녕 형성에 주요 영향을 미치는 아동기부터 사회적 지지에 대한 적절한 안내 및 사회적 지지 증진에 적절한 지도가 필요할 것으로 보인다.
