The purpose of this study is to derive the transfer facilitation strategies for leadership education based on the theoretical literature review and empirical case studies and propose design strategies to improve transfer distance in the view of Holton and Baldwin (2003b). In this study, we identified the category of transfer elements such as individual characteristics, education and training design, and work environment through various leadership education and development programs. We also suggested the tactical actions to extend transfer distance on the basis of Holton and Baldwin`s six stage mode (that is, acquiring knowledge?acquiring knowledge for use?building performance capability through practice?application for job-specific proficiency?repeating and maintaining application?generalizing for the far transfer). In addition, we expect a practical guideline for workplace transfer before-during-after the education and training. Additional inquiry and analysis is required to introduce the optimum prescription for the various and situational learning.
