부모의 학력이 자녀의 학력 및 직업지위에 미치는 효과 - 국제비교 분석

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

  The purpose of this paper is to make an international comparative analysis on the effect of parents" educational level on children"s education level and occupational status, using the result of Iannelli(2002)"s analysis on the European countries. The results show that parents" educational level makes a significant impact on the children"s education level in Korea. This impact is stronger than Northern European countries and most other European countries except Eastern European countries. But the effect of parents" education level to children"s occupational status is limited. The total magnitude of this effect is small, and the indirect effect through children"s education is more significant than the direct effect of parents" education level.
