학교 컨설턴트의 전문성 확보를 위한 과제

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 일반 컨설팅의 원리와 방법을 학교교육 개선에 적용하기 위한 다양한 시도들이 학교 컨설팅이라는 이름하에 이루어지고 있다. 학교 컨설팅은 의뢰인의 자발적인 요청에 의해 전문가인 컨설턴트의 자문, 조언, 지원활동을 주요 특징으로 한다. 이러한 학교 컨설팅에서 컨설턴트의 전문성은 컨설팅의 질을 결정하는 중요한 요인이 된다. 그러나 학교 컨설팅에 관련된 이론적 논의와 실제에서 학교 컨설턴트가 갖추어야 할 전문성은 무엇이며, 이러한 학교 컨설턴트의 전문성을 확보하기 위한 과제에 대한 분석은 체계적으로 이루어지지 못하였다. 이러한 문제의식에서 본 논문은 기존의 학교 컨설팅 논의와 이론을 재검토하고 일반 경영 컨설팅의 특성과 컨설턴트의 전문성에 대한 분석을 기초로 학교 컨설턴트의 전문성 확보를 위한 과제를 탐색하였다. 분석 결과, 학교 컨설턴트의 전문성은 컨설팅 내용에 대한 전문지식, 인간관계 기술, 컨설팅 기술, 신뢰와 진정성 등을 핵심 요소로 하며, 학교 컨설턴트의 전문성 확보를 위한 주요 과제로서 학교 컨설턴트의 잠재적 풀 확충과 양성과정 개발, 컨설팅 팀으로서의 전문성 제고, 학교의 역량 강화, 학교 내부 컨설턴트의 활용 가능성 확대, 학교 컨설턴트간 네트워크의 구성을 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated school consultants' professional characteristics and future tasks that should be considered in school consulting process. School consulting is getting attention among scholars, practitioners, and policy makers as a new approach (methodology) for educational reform. Though school consulting is applied to various areas, such as instruction consulting, classroom management consulting, school management consulting, school consultants' role, quality, and professionals are not yet investigated systematically. As the quality and outcomes of school consulting are largely depended on consultants' quality and competences, conceptual and theoretical reviews are need on who is and become school consultants? what are the role of school consultants? and how school consultants should be trained and educated in the future?
To answer these questions, I reviewed the related articles, researches and books and investigated the cases and practices of school consulting. This study analyzed the characteristics of school consultants' professional quality and competences and categorized them into professional knowledge and technical skills, interpersonal skills, consulting skills, trust and authenticity. And the tasks to improve and develop school consultants' professionals are as follows: Building the capacities for using school consultants in improving schooling, developing programs for school consultants, networking the school consultants. In addition, the ways for using school consultants more adequately and positively are as follows: Developing and expanding future school consultants' pools, improving possibilities to use internal school consultants in hierarchical school organizations, promoting the capacities of school consultants as a team.
