호텔기업의 정보화, 경영성과, 객실규모의 관련성에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Relationship between the Use of I.T. Performance and Scale in the Hotel Industry

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research tries to understand the relationship between the use of Information Technology. and improvement in performance in the hotel industry and; the relation between the class of hotel and the scale of rooms by verifying the hypothesis based on the specific variables of hotel information system (HIS). For this research, the researcher evaluated previous research and established a research model and five hypotheses. The survey targeted staff of the luxury hotels (13 class 1 & 10 class 2) in Seoul. 387 valid questionnaires were collected and factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis were conducted.
A prominent finding of this study is that the use of I.T. in the hotel industry is related to the class of hotel, while the improvement of the performance is related to the scale of the hotel (number of rooms). This finding is meaningful in that it suggests the new scale of variable (number of rooms). Such a new scale of variable is helpful for considering the economy of scale in the hotel industry’s investment in I.T.
This study will augment hotel managers' strategic use of I.T. and decision making relating to I.T. investment. In addition, this study will provide a basis for understanding the effects of using I.T. for hotel I.T. system developers. In the matter of generalization, dependence on the self-assessment of the staff, and the specific boundary of using I.T. according to the scale of the hotel suggests the limitation of this study and future research topics.
