자유선택활동에서의 유아들의 의사소통의 의미 = The Meaning of Communication among Young Children during Free Play Activities

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was constructed to explore the meaning of young children's communication during their free play activities. To do this study, 12 young children have been observed for five months in a naturalistic setting. This study found several types of communication during young children's play as follows: harmonical communication based on their exchange of ideas during play, communication with information, facts, communication for achieving common goals during play, communication with emphatic understanding and care for peers, communication for making decisions during play based on play rules, competitive communication, communication with gender differences, and communication with intruders during play. These types of young children's communication during play are limited to their play. However, the types of communication played a role for formulating peer culture among young children. This study has implications for educators as it gives teachers of young learners valuable information suitable for their interaction with young children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 자유선택활동에서 이루어지는 유아들의 사회적 상호작용 맥락에 따른 유아들의 의사소통의 의미에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관에서 유아들의 자유선택활동에서 약 5개월 동안 관찰하였다. 본 연구에서 유아들의 의사소통은 상상의 교류를 통해 조화로 나아가는 의사소통, 정보의 교류와 이를 바탕으로 하는 교정적 의사소통, 공동의 목표를 향해 나아가는 의사소통, 공감각적 이해와 배려의 의사소통, 규칙에 따른 시비(是非)의 의사소통, 경쟁의 의사소통, 남녀구별의 의사소통, 도움을 통한 간섭의 의사소통 등이 발견되었다. 이러한 의사소통은 유아들의 놀이와 관련되는 모습이 있었지만 유아의 또래집단 형성과 놀이문화 형성에 역할을 한다는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구를 통해 유아들의 의사소통뿐만 아니라 사회적 상호작용의 의미를 보다 구체적으로 이해할 수 있고 유아-교사간 상호작용에 필요한 정보를 제공할 것으로 여겨진다.
