This study examined the relationships among dispositional traits, organizational citizenship behavior, and perceived job mobility. And this study specially investigated the moderating roles of perceived job mobility in the relationship between variables. The data was collected from 182 workers in 15 large manufacturing plants. This study measured the moderating effects of perceived job mobility using the hierarchical regression approach.
The results of this study are as follows. First, regression analysis showed that positive affectivity was strongly related to organizational citizenship behavior, and negative affectivity was not related to organizational citizenship behavior. Second, the perceived job mobility showed that it had a moderate effect in the relationship between positive affectivity and organizational citizenship behavior. But it was not showed the moderate effects in relationship between negative affectivity and organizational citizenship behavior.
These results suggest that positive affectivity shows more strong relationship than negative affectivity to organizational citizenship behavior. And these results indicate that the perceived job mobility will be a serious consideration variable on research fields of organizational citizenship behavior.
