This study examined the structural relationships between temple-stay satisfaction and it`s antecedents, focusing on the mediating role of emotion. More specifically, it investigated how temple-stay experience factors, human factors and facility factors influence participant`s emotions (comprising positive and negative emotions)and temple-stay satisfaction formation. The authors proposed a structural equation model comprising six constructs. Data were collected from 768 temple-stay participants in designated temple-stay operating temples, and analyzed by AMOS 7.0. The findings can be summarized as follows: First, temple-stay experience factors appeared to have a positive effect on positive emotion and a negative effect on negative emotion. Moreover, the effect of experience factors on positive emotion appeared to be comparatively stronger than on negative emotion Second, human factors and facility factors had effects on temple-stay participants` both of emotion. Third, the effect of temple-stay participants` positive emotion on satisfaction formation was positive and statistically significant while the effect of negative emotion on satisfaction formation was negative. These results suggest that the effects of temple-stay experience, human and facility factors on satisfaction formation were mediated by positive emotion and negative emotion.
