지방자치단체 자율통합과정에서의 행위자간 갈등 분석: Giddens의 구조화이론을 중심으로 = Analysis of the Conflicts between Actors in the Process of Local Administrative District Consolidation: Focused on Giddens`s Structuration Theory

This study analyzes the conflicts in the process of local administrative district consolidation, using Giddens`s theory of structuration. The behaviors of actors against consolidation, which are related to conflicts occurring in the process of consolidation discussion, seem to be affected by structural factors within which the actors exist. The actors` actions are shaped by organizations to which they belong (e.g., local councils, local governments, political parties), local dimensions and conditions, the election system, and government incentives aimed at facilitating consolidation. Since there are a variety of structures that can affect the actors, and the characteristics of the structures within which they act differ, conflicts among the actors can be caused in the process of consolidation discussion. This means that local administrative district consolidation, initiated to enhance the competitiveness of local governments, is conditioned by political interests due to the structures to which local actors belong.
