관용어의 직설의미와 관용의미의 관계 연구 = A Study on the Relations of Literal Meaning and Idiomatic Meaning in Idioms

This paper investigate a relation between the literal meaning and the idiomatic meaning of Idioms. I analyzed their relation in the three point of view; a argument structure and case-frame structure between the literal meaning and the idiomatic meaning, a implementation of aspect by compounding auxiliary verb, modification structure in the mimetic words. The three-point analysis in this paper shows us that the idiomatic meaning has a close relation to literal meaning, so all the idiomatic-used idioms maintain a “significant” literal meaning. Idioms has functions of transferring a abstract meaning by indicating concrete event or phenomenon directly, so they has a some pattern-fixed associations in concrete events/states and abstract meanings. This paper concludes that the idiomatic meaning maintains a association to the literal meaning, and a associative possibility is pretty complex and various in the practically usage.
