콘텍스츄얼리즘적 접근을 통한 현대 박물관의 공공적 가치 해석 = The Analysis of Public Value in Contemporary Museum by Contextualism

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Contemporary Museums are major cultural facilities which serve the needs of the public. However, in reality, most museums in Korea fail to provide venues for local residents to freely exchange ideas. This type of problem arises because the context that surrounds the museum was not taken into consideration when planning spaces. Against this background, this study aims to prove that the entire spaces and activities inside the museum can be aligned to a common goal – that is, to communicate with users. To this end, the study will analyze the internal and external contexts of the contemporary museum which form the foundation of the purpose of serving the public. Theories and case studies will be presented to demonstrate that the external functions of the museum can be extended when the internal elements carry temporal, spatial, environmental and functional relevance to the local community.
