      Up until now, most studies have dealt with traditional variables such as task performance and contextual performance. Amid growing complexity in managerial environment, recent studies began to focus on adaptive performance. Adaptive performance focuses on the environmental changes of employee tasks. Previous studies examined the antecedents of adaptive performance such as general cognitive ability and personality. Also, a lack of empirical studies on this issue coupled with limited research regarding negotiation & action team with notable adaptive performance act as a stumbling block to advancing the research. To cope with task environmental change, team members should have an expertise and creativity based on divergent thinking, as well as teamwork and cooperation based on convergent mechanism.
      This study investigates the effect of job expertise and creative self-efficacy on adaptive performance as antecedents, and cross-level moderating effect of team shared mental model is examined. This study collected data from 69 team leaders and 481 negotiation & action team members. The results showed that job expertise had positive effects on individual adaptive performance, but creative self-efficacy had not significantly effects on individual adaptive performance. In addition, team shared mental model showed the positively cross-level moderating effect on the relationship between creative self-efficacy and adaptive performance, but not for the relationship between job expertise and adaptive performance. We discussed research implications and suggested future research directions.
