    Today, corporations are faced with growing competition and rapid technological changes which pose the considerable challenges to corporations. To meet these challenges and assure survival and growth, corporations depend on effective CEOs, people who can formulate and implement the strategy leading to success.
    Unfortunately, despite the importance of the CEO to the company, there seem to exist relatively few studies on effective leadership of CEOs. However, there has been an increase in the number of research on CEO leadership during the last ten years.
    This study reviews recent research in CEO leadership building on strategic leadership-based approach, transformational/charismatic leadership-based approach, social cognitive approach, and psychoanalytic approach. The findings of research on CEO leadership related to each of these approaches are introduced and discussed. And suggestions on the direction for future research are provided.
