The study aimed to find the correlation between reading motivation and attitude toward reading as affective factors of reading. The survey participants were 280 pupils (136 boys, 144 girls) from 6 classes in 2 middle school students. There were 84 7th graders, 86 8th graders, and 110 9th graders. The result of this study were as follows. First, global correlation coefficient between reading motivation and attitude toward reading was .689(p=.000). Second, there was sex difference of correlation coefficient between reading motivation and attitude toward reading. The boys` correlation coefficient showed higher than the girls`. Especially, the girl` the coefficient was high on curiosity and recognition. Third, there was grade difference of correlation coefficient between reading motivation and attitude toward reading. The 7th grade`s the coefficient showed lower, 8th and 9th grade higher than total grade.
