시설 퇴소청소년의 레질리언스에 영향을 미치는 요인 = Resilience of youths who had been discharged from child residential care in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study examined the status of resilience of the youths who had been discharged from child residential care facilities during the year of 2004-2008. Based on the resilience theory, the study examined the main effects of psychological characteristics, social support, and the difficulties that the youths have experienced after the discharge on their level of resilience. Also, the study explored the interaction effects between the difficulties of the youths experienced, and their psychological characteristics and social support. The study results indicated the main effects of psychological characteristics, social support from significant others except family and friends, and the difficulties on the level of resilience. Furthermore, the result revealed an interaction indicating the positive effect of social support from significant others increased as the level of difficulties got higher. Based on the results, policy and practice implications for the youths were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

청소년의 레질리언스는 어려운 환경이나 다양한 역경에도 불구하고 적절한 발달이나 역량을 성취하는 청소년의 특징을 의미한다. 본 연구는 2004년부터 2008년까지 전국의 양육시설을 퇴소한 청소년의 레질리언스의 수준을 파악하고 그들의 자아존중감 및 정서조절감, 사회적지지, 퇴소 후 어려움이 각각 레질리언스에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 또한 퇴소청소년의 자아존중감 및 정서조절감, 사회적 지지의 긍정적 효과가 퇴소 후 경험한 어려움의 정도에 따라 증가 혹은 감소하는지 조사하였다. 그 결과, 퇴소청소년들은 교육성취, 취업, 주거, 경제적 수준 등 전반적인 복지수준에서 상당히 소외된 계층임이 드러났다. 자아존중감이나 정서조절감 등 청소년 심리적 특성은 레질리언스에 대해 유의미한 긍정적 효과를 나타냈다. 사회적 지지 중에서는 타자지지만이 유의미한 효과를 나타냈으며, 퇴소 후 경험한 어려움과 상호작용효과를 보였다. 자세히 살펴보면, 청소년이 퇴소 후 어려움을 많이 경험할수록 그들의 레질리언스에 대한 타자지지의 효과가 더 커지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 결과는 시설퇴소 후 사회적응이나 자립에서 심리적 부담감을 느끼거나 어려움을 호소하는 청소년들에게 시설종사자나 청소년전문가의 사회적 지지가 매우 중요하다는 것을 암시한다.
