발달적 관점에서 본 정신병질: 아동기와 청소년기를 중심으로 = A review on the child and adolescent psychopathy: The Developmental perspective

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the comprehensive approach of previous studies on child and adolescent psychopathy. Suggestion was made to help activate further studies on theses issue. This studies focused on childhood and adolescent psychopathy features, the measurement of child and adolescent psychopathy, childhood risk factors for psychopathy, and the prevention of adolescent psychopathy. Based on the trend, developmental variables, like attachment, temperament, and so on were reviewed. Therefore, it is suggested that psychologists should give close attention to the challenges of future researches for child and adolescent psychopathy.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 발달적 관점에서 정신병질의 발달과정에서의 특성과 그에 영향을 주는 발달심리학적 변인들을 정리해 보고자 관련 연구들을 개관하였다. 아동․청소년기 정신병질과 관련하여 진행된 외국 연구들을 기초로 하여 아동․청소년기 정신병질의 개념, 성인기까지의 안정성, 발달에서 관련 변인들, 그리고 치료적 개입에 대한 견해를 살펴보았다. 우선 그 증상의 존재와 관련하여 일군의 청소년 범죄자가 지닌 정신병질적 특성이 정신병질로 진단된 성인과 매우 유사하다는 사실을 보고한 최근의 연구 결과들을 정리하였다. 또한 아동기와 청소년기 동안 드러나는 정신병질의 초기 행동특성과 이러한 특성들의 연령증가에 따른 안정성에 대해 연구되어 온 결과들을 살펴보고 정신병질관련 요인들을 발달적 관점에서 탐색하였다. 마지막으로 아동․청소년 정신병질자의 진단 및 치료 개입 현황을 살펴보고, 그에 대한 앞으로의 함의를 살펴보고자 하였다. 정신병질에 대한 발달심리학적 지식은 잠재적 범죄위험요인인 정신병질에 대한 보다 폭넓은 이해에 반드시 필요하며 앞으로도 관련 분야에 대한 연구자들의 지속적인 관심과 고찰이 요구된다.
