초등 교과교육연구회 참여경험에 대한 자문화기술지 = An Autoethnography on the Participation Experiences in a Teachers` Study Group of Elementary Education

This paper illuminates micro-political conflicts and dilemmas of a teachers` study group(TSG) of elementary education through an autoethnography, which focuses on social process and group dynamics. The specific results and conclusions are as follows: First, a TSG of elementary education was autonomously constructed by a personal network and power of a few authoritative members who have strong commitment and ownership on the TSG. The personal composition of the TSG was newly reconstructed in one year cycle. The TSG operated on contradictory values such as autonomy and accountability. Second, the teachers` identities were transformed from pseudo-consumers into prosumers through participation experiences in the TSG of elementary education. The TSG also provided members with power and agency to become collaborative professionals. Third, the TSG became a group or community according to three factors such as spatial-temporal limit, relationship between congeniality and collegiality, research phase. Fourth, the TSG of elementary education disseminated and diffused research products to share through various mediums, in-service training programs, workshop, and symposium. Nevertheless, research products of the TSG were not effectively shared to other schools and classrooms. The results and conclusions of this study will be a qualitative groundwork to elaborately understand operational mechanism of TSG, and to find an alternative perspective and approach on the TSG of elementary education.
