기념이면서 소통인 예배: 동시대 문화 속 예배 모색

국문 초록 (Abstract)

예배는 신구약 성경에서 증시(證示)되는 대로 하나님의 인간 창조 목적이며 또 하나님과 인간의 언약이다. 이것은 구속사의 완성이신 예수 그리스도 안에서도 명령된 사건이다. 따라서 예배는 기독교 신앙 활동의 중심적인 위치를 차지하며 그 속에서 하나님의 창조와 구원 사건 등이 기념을 통해 재현되고 실제화 되는 자리이다. 예배자는 이 기념 속에서 경험된 하나님의 활동에 대해 고백, 감사, 찬미로 하나님께 응답한다. 예배를 통해 그리스도 안에서 행하신 하나님의 구속사건을 기념하는 일은 역사적인 기독교적 실행으로서 지금도 여전히 필수불가결의 요소이다. 이와 같은 기념을 통해 인간은 하나님의 현존과 만나 갱신되어 새로운 모습으로 세상의 삶 속으로 나아간다. 그런데 만일 이런 본질적 차원만을 주목하여 그것의 기념(아남네시스)에만 모든 강조점을 두고 동시대 안에서 그것을 소통하려는 또 다른 목표와 노력을 소홀히 한다면 예배의 목적은 절만의 달성일 뿐 완성되었다고 볼 수는 없다. 예배는 바로 이 두 가지 측면, 즉 본질의 재현과 그것의 동시대적 적용 모두에 힘을 기울여야 하는 일인 것이다. 따라서 예배에서 우선 유념해야 할 방식이 있다면 그것은 교회의 전통적 지혜를 오늘의 시대 상황에서 중시하는 일이다. 이어 현실과의 소통 측면을 위해서는 예배는 동시대의 상황에 처해 있는 인간의 인지와 정서 및 각 이문화층 간의 소통 메카니즘에 대한 깊은 이해와 더불어 그에 대한 적절한 대처를 위해 역시 힘써야 한다. 하나님과 인간 사이의 소통이 무엇보다도 중요한 예배에서 그 방식이나 질의 개선은 본질의 파수에 기울이는 노력 못지않게 매우 중요한 것이기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Worship is a locus where the creation, providence and salvation of God is reaffirmed and actualized, and human being responds to God through confession, thanksgiving, and praise. For such a goal, it is a requirement of the Church to remember the salvational history of God in Christ. Human being is sent forth to the daily life after he or she is renewed and empowered by the experience of encounter with God in recurring what has taken place in Christ. It is an unyielding identity of Christian worship in whatever context, which may be constantly changing. However, if the Church pays attention to the preservation of identity only but fails to ignore the communication process and its significance, the precious Christian tradition could not communicate itself to the contemporary world. Thus, worship should involve in two aspects. One is the well observation of the tradition through the recovery and exercise of laudable liturgical practices. The other is an effective or down-to-earth appropriation to contemporary realistic world. So the Church should not only take the traditional wisdom seriously, but also needs to be alarmed to properly tune the communication quality to the changing cultural or social context. The method and quality in communication process between God and human being is very crucial factor for worshippers to put themselves into more profound participation.
