대학생의 진로결정 수준과 개인의 내외적 변인과의 관계 = The Relationships Between Individual's Internal-External Variables and Career Decision Levels of College Students

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between individual's internal-external variables and career decision levels of college students. The population was limited to college students who are enrolled in eight universities in Seoul and Gyungi provinces. For this study, the convenience sampling method was used. A survey was sent to 950 college students. Out of a total of 883 surveys returned, 26 respondents were excluded from statistical analysis for either their incomplete responses or unreliable answers. The final 857 responses were analyzed for this study. The major findings of this study were as follows.First, the students who have higher ego-identity have higher awareness of career decision levels. This result seems to be because the students who have higher self-identity have higher initiativeness, self-receptiveness, confirmativeness for future, goal-orientedness, subjectivity, and intimacy, than the students who have lower self-identity. Second, the students who have more supports from family and friends, and better school environments, have higher awareness of career decision levels. This result seems to be because the students who have more supports from family and friends, and better school environments, have obtained more career information and have been accepted more. Third, there were positive relationships among ego-identity, parent support, friend support, school environments and career decision levels. Among these variables, the ego-identity and the school environments variables were important factors to have effects on career decision levels. The two variables explained 42 percent of career decision levels within the college students.
