The primary purpose of this study was to find out the relationship among divergent thinking, affective temperament of young children and social development in order to provide a basis or social development of young children. The subjects of this study were 119 kindergartners and their parents in Incheon, Korea. The following hypotheses were tested : (1) there were positive relationship among all the factors of divergent thinking and social development of young children ; (2) positive relationship also among the adaptation, activity, reactivity in children’s affective temperament and social development. These findings imply that the information about divergent thinking and the factors of affective temperament related to social development of young children provide a basis for educational programs for young children’s families.
