The purpose of the present study was to explore effects of home environments and self-characteristics of adolescents on career decision stress. To pursue this goal, questionnaires were distributed to 470 high school seniors, 230 males and 240 females. Career decision stress were composed of career indecision stress and career conflict stress and self-characteristics of self knowledge and self-determination. The results indicated that home environments and self-characteristics had reliable effects on career decision stress and yet interactions between these two variables were not significant. These results implicate that it is critical to consider home environments and self-characteristics of high school seniors when they are given an advice on career decision problems.
