다문화가정 유아의 매스미디어 경험에 따른 사회적 행동에 관한 연구 = A Study of Development of Social Skills by Watching Mass Media of Young Children from Multicultural Family

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relations between watching mass media and development of social skills of young children. For this study, a survey of young children's daily average time spent watching television and videos and their social behaviors in early childhood educational institutions was conducted on 157 young children from multicultural family. Results showed that young children from multicultural family watched mass media for more than 2 hours daily on the average and the time spent watching mass media was longer in case of the second-born children and those with a working mother. In addition, for young children's social behaviors by watching mass media, it was found that there were significant common differences in children's social efficiency and their relations with peers and teachers. Therefore, it is suggested that this social mediation with the mass media of Korea society can be used to support whole-personal development of young children from multicultural family and help them overcome the lack of educational, social, cultural and welfare resources so that they can be integrated into Korea society.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 현대 사회의 주요한 환경체계라고 할 수 있는 매스미디어 경험에 따른 다문화가정 유아의 행동 경향성에 대해 살펴보고자 다문화가정 유아 157명을 대상으로 연구하였다. 연구결과 다문화가정 유아들의 매스미디어 일일 평균 시청시간은 2시간 17분으로 하루 2시간이 조금 넘는 시간을 시청하는 것으로 나타났으며, 유아의 출생순위와 어머니의 취업유무에 따라서 시청시간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 매스미디어 시청시간에 따라 또래와 교사관계 및 사회적 유능성에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 다문화가정에 대한 사회, 문화, 복지적 수혜가 원활히 이루어져야 하는 상황에서 매스미디어를 통해 사회․문화적응 및 여타의 문화실조 극복을 돕는 기제로 활용될 수 있음에 대하여 논의하였다.
