예술적 표현활동에 기초한 콜라주 동화책 만들기 활동이 유아의 언어표현력에 미치는 효과 = The Effects of Authoring/Illustrating a Collage Storybook with Image-Making on Young Children's Linguistic Expression

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 예술적 표현활동에 기초한 언어교육의 하나인 콜라주 동화책 만들기 활동이 유아의 언어표현력에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 경북 P시에 소재한 K어린이집의 만5세아 30명을 실험집단으로, D어린이집의 만5세아 30명을 통제집단으로 하여, 8주간 주 3회, 총 24회에 걸쳐 실험처치를 하였다. 장영애(1981)의 언어표현력 검사를 사전 및 사후검사로 사용하여 실험처치에 따른 유아 언어표현력 변화를 살펴본 결과, 예술적 표현활동에 기초한 콜라주 동화책 만들기 활동이 유아의 언어표현력 전반에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 언어표현력의 하위 영역별로 보면 내용이 일치하는 이야기 꾸미기에서 단어 수에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었던 반면, 문장 수, 내용의 일치, 내용의 연계, 창의적 표현에서 모두 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 아울러 연계성 있는 이야기 꾸미기에서도 연계성과 창의적 표현 모두에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 이러한 예술적 표현활동과 언어적 표현활동을 통합하여 유아가 직접 작가이자 삽화가가 되어보게 하는 통합적 유아 언어교육 프로그램이 유아교육 현장에서 의미 있게 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to examine the effects of authoring/illustrating a collage storybook with image-making on young children's linguistic expression and creativity, and to explore possibilities of utilizing the program in the field of early childhood education. The subjects of the study were 30 5-year-old children in K child care center, assigned to the experimental group, and 30 same-aged children in D child care center, assigned to the control group. Both child care centers were located in P city in Kyungpook. Utilizing the Linguistic Expression Test constructed by Jang as a measurement tool, the effects of authoring/illustrating a collage storybook with image-making on young children's linguistic expression were analyzed. The results showed that authoring/illustrating a collage storybook with image-making had statistically significant effects on linguistic expression of the experimental group. As for the sub-areas of linguistic expression, there found no significant difference in the number of words, but differences in the number of sentences, consistency of the content, connection of the content, and creative linguistic expression were all statistically significant. These results suggest the potentials of these activities integrating artistic experiences and linguistic experiences in improving young children's linguistic expression in early childhood programs.
