서울 서촌지역의 문화적 도시재생 활동에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Cultural Urban Regeneration Activity in the Seochon Area of Seou

This study focused on the cultural regeneration strategy in urban regeneration. Six cultural urban regeneration strategy types, which were established based on the regeneration cases of existing cities and information classified by the types were applied on Seochon area. According to the result of analysis by types of six cultural urban regeneration strategies, Seochon can be applied of urban regeneration strategies utilizing culture dependent on each cultural characteristics and the improvement of the straggling city image by creating cultural environment can work as a positive factor. In addition, Seochon can be different from getting city competitiveness, if it would not go for complete redevelopment but would change the city space into sustainable space by combining culture with the heritage of past age or buildings from past industrialization age. The participation of residents and the reflection of their opinion are the most important factor for the success of each strategy; therefore, the cultural urban regeneration strategy ongoing in Seochon should go on by the residents toward the direction of advancing the identity of area by considering the cultural characteristic of the area.
