청소년의 학업스트레스와 자살생각의 관계: 부모 및 또래와의 관계와 인지왜곡의 매개효과 = The Relationship between Academic Stress and Suicidal Ideation among Adolescents: Mediating Effects of Relationships with Parents or Peer and Cognitive Errors

This study was to examine the relationships between academic stress and suicidal ideation and whether this relationship was mediated by relationships with parents or peer and cognitive errors. The Academic Stress Scale, the Scale for Suicidal Ideation, the Inventory of Parents and Peer Attachment and the Maladaptive Thoughts Scale were administered to 582 Korean adolescents. The results showed that adolescent's academic stress was significantly correlated with all variables except peer relationship, negatively correlated with relationship with parents and positively correlated with cognitive errors and suicidal ideation. The relationship with parents and cognitive errors partially mediated the relationship between academic stress and suicidal ideation. In addition, both internalizing and externalizing cognitive errors partially mediated the relationship between academic stress and suicidal ideation. Specifically, the path from academic stress to suicidal ideation could be more influenced by internalizing cognitive errors(17.2%) than externalizing cognitive errors(2.3%). The implications and limitations of these findings were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년의 학업스트레스와 자살생각의 관계에서 부모 및 또래와의 관계와 인지왜곡의 매개효과를 가정하고 이를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울과 수도권에 위치한 중, 고등학교에 재학 중인 청소년 582명이었으며, 학업스트레스척도, 자살생각척도, 부모 및 또래애착척도, 부적응적 사고척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 청소년의 학업스트레스는 자살생각 및 인지왜곡과 유의미한 정적상관이 있었고, 부모 및 또래와의 관계와는 유의미한 부적상관이 있었다. 둘째, 청소년의 학업스트레스와 자살생각의 관계에서, 부모와의 관계와 인지왜곡이 자살생각을 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 인지왜곡을 내면화-외현화문제관련 인지왜곡으로 구분하여 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 이들 모두 청소년의 학업스트레스와 자살생각의 관계를 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 내면화문제관련 인지왜곡은 외현화문제관련 인지왜곡보다 자살생각을 설명하는데 있어서 7배 이상 설명력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의와 한계에 대하여 논의하였다.
