인터넷 자살 사이트에 의해 매개된 자살: 사례 중심의 탐색적 연구 = Suicides Mediated by Internet Sites about Suicides: The Explorative Study on the Suicidal Cases Related with Suicide Sites

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 인터넷 자살 사이트를 매개로 한 자살 행동을 심리적 측면에서 분석하였다. 연구 1에서는 현재까지 언론에 보도된 자살 사이트 관련 사례들을 일반적인 자살 연구의 결과들과 비교하여 개괄적으로 분석하였고, 연구 2에서는 자살 사이트 관련 자살시도자와 자살자를 중심으로, 이들이 자살 사이트 접속이전에 가지고 있던 심리적 변인들과 자살 생각이 실제로 자살 행동으로 옮겨지기까지의 과정에 대해서 심층적 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 자살사이트 문제는 자살과 관련된 기제와 인터넷 상호작용이 가지고 있는 특성이 복잡하게 결합되어 발생한 문제임을 알 수 있었다. 이들 연구들의 결과를 토대로 정신 건강 서비스의 진화 방향 그리고 역기능적 인터넷 이용에 대한 위기관리와 예방 프로그램의 필요성에 대해서 논하였다.

This study analyzed suicides mediated by internet sites about suicide in psychological aspects. Study 1 examined the suicidal cases involved with suicide sites in comparison with the cases not involved with the web sites. Study 2 explored the psychological variables before the suicide and the process of suicide mediated by the suicide web sites with the cases of a suicide attempter and a completer. Suicide mediated by suicide sites was the complicated matter that was interlocked by the characteristics of interpersonal communications on the web.
Increased risk factors of suicide and the diverse roles of internet in modern society, the future paradigm of mental health service, and the need for the crisis intervention system on the web and the web based prevention program were discussed.
