고학력 기혼여성의 진로단절 위기 경험에 대한 개념도(Concept Mapping) 연구 -진로지속 여성과 중단 여성 간의 비교- = Concept Mapping the Highly Educated and Married Women's Experience on Crisis of Career Interruption-for Comparing Career Women with Housewiveshad Experienced Career Interruption-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study was to explore, identify, and to categorize highly educated women's understanding of crisis related to career interruption. A research method called “concept-mapping”(MDS: Multidimensional Scaling and Hierarchical Cluster Analysis) was used to develop an understanding of crisis involving career interruption. The crisis of career interruption is defined as life events such as childbirth, childcare, and educating children in the process of adult women's development. 8 career women and 8 housewives who had experienced career interruption were interviewed and asked about what they had experienced when they were confronted with that situation. The 40 ideas of crisis of career interruption were recorded on index cards, and 11 participants returned. 6 career women and 5 housewives performed card sorts on 40 statements derived from qualitative interviews of 16 participants. Results are as the following: First, participants identified 5 crises of career interruption that they had experienced: (1) conflicting childcare with work, (2) degrading career aspiration, (3) accepting traditional sex roles, (4) tending not to develope career, and (5) accepting social roles. Second, the differences between the two groups were explored through the rated results about degree of agreement with 40 statements within the respective clusters by 11 participants. Based on the above results, the implications of research related to women's career counseling and practice were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 고학력 기혼 여성들이 진로단절 위기 상황에 처했을 때 내면적으로 어떠한 경험들을 했는지를 살펴봄으로써 이들이 지각하는 진로단절 위기 경험에 대한 개념적 구조를 밝히는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 진로단절 위기 경험을 한 직장여성 8명과 직장 경력이 있던 전업주부 8명 총 16명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 진로단절 위기 경험에 대한 아이디어를 산출하고 11명의 연구 참여자들이 40개의 아이디어를 분류한 결과를 다차원 척도법과 위계적 군집 분석을 실시하여 개념도 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 고학력 기혼 여성들은 진로단절 위기 경험에 대해서 다중역할 갈등수준과 자아성취 의지의 두 가지 차원을 바탕으로 (1) 육아․일 병행 갈등, (2) 진로포부 하향 조정, (3) 전통적 성 역할 수용 과정, (4) 진로개발 의지의 부족, (5) 직업인의 역할 수용 과정 5개의 군집으로 이해하고 있었다. 둘째, 각각의 군집 내 진술문들에 대해 공감의 정도에 따라 평정한 결과들을 구체적으로 살펴봄으로써 일과 가족 사이에서의 갈등, 가족이나 사회적 지지의 경험에서 두 집단이 달리 경험하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 여성의 진로 상담의 연구와 실제에 대한 함의를 제공하였다.
