노년기 자원봉사참여유형이 우울에 미치는 영향 - 자아통합감의 매개효과를 중심으로- = The Effects of Volunteering Participation Characteristics on the Depression of Older People : The mediating effect of Ego Integrity

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study looked into the effect of volunteering participation characteristics on the depression level for the elderly in depth. In order to verify the correlation of two variables, a mediating model structured by ego integrity was used which gave out the Seoul welfare panel data created by Seoul welfare foundation in 2010. The total sample size was a group of 1,862 elders aged over 60. When it came to our research methods, structured equation analysis was applied to verify the mediating effect and theoretical background. The results revealed that volunteering activities participation of the elderly directly affected reduction of their depression level, thus, ego integrity showed a partial mediating effect between volunteering activities participation and depression level. The outcome of this study call for the importance to promote a successful aging of the elderly and to ensure this, there should be improved and increased number of volunteer programs for the elderly in the community welfare centers all around.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 노년기의 자원봉사참여유형이 우울에 미치는 영향력을 검증하고, 이 관계에서 자아통합감의 매개효과를 분석하는 것이다. 연구에서 활용한 자료는 서울시복지재단에서 실시한 서울시 복지패널조사자료 중 2010년도 가구원용 데이터이며, 1,862명이 분석대상이다. 연구방법은 빈도분석, 기술분석, 상관관계분석을 통해 대상자의 일반적 특성 및 주요 변수의 특성을 살펴보았으며, 구조방정식으로 연구모형을 검증하고, Sobel test를 통해 자아통합감의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 노인 자원봉사 참여 유형 중 자원봉사 참여 지속 집단은 우울을 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자원봉사 참여 지속 집단은 우울감소에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 자아통합감을 매개로 하여 영향을 미치는 부분매개효과도 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로, 노인의 성공적인 노화를 위해서 지속적인 자원봉사 참여에 대한 중요성을 인식하고 향후 자원봉사 프로그램의 발전방향에 대해 제안해보았다.
