아동학대 유형별 위험요인에 관한 연구 = Child Abuse Risk Factors and the Abuse Types

This paper aims to examine relationships between the child abuse and parental risk factors and to determine the intervening effects of the child environmental factors, the children themselves and the situations of the family. The author develops the child-abuse measurement scales, analyzes 1,780 elementary school students of general populations, and finds several meaningful facts. First, the parental risk factors and the children ecological factors come to exist differently according to the child-abuse patterns. Secondly, the direct effects of parental factors to the child abuse are affected by the child factors and environmental factors. Thirdly, the maternal employment and room-share variables appear to be in important relationship with the child sexual abuse. Fourthly, father's occupation variables are important in predicting the physical abuse. Fifth, the parental alcohol abuse variable, step-parent variable, and academic performance as a child factor are influential in deciding the child neglect and emotional abuse.
With the results, the paper derives some social welfare policy and social work practice implications as follows: first, we need to approach differently to the child abuse preventive programs according to the child abuse forms. Secondly, the child care problems for sexual abuse appear to be important in maternal absence. Thirdly, all child protective programs have to be centered around the child-empowerment principle. This paper adopts the ecological approach and uses separate analysis of child abuse forms so that the thesis determines parental risk factors and finds the connectedness with other systems. Especially it is remembered that the maternal employment has a direct effect to child abuse and physical absence of mother worsens the child welfare.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 아동학대 유형별로 부모의 위험요인을 찾아내고 아동체계와 환경체계 요인들이 부모위험요인과 아동학대와의 직접적 관계에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하여 사회복지정책과 실천의 함의를 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위해 아동학대 척도를 수정보완하고 일반 모집단 아동 약 1,780명의 사례를 분석한 결과 몇 가지 의미 있는 사실을 발견하였다. 첫째, 아동학대 유형별로 위험요인들은 다르게 나타났다. 둘째, 아동학대와 부모위험요인과의 관계는 아동요인과 환경요인에 의하여 약하게 영향을 받고 있다. 셋째, 성적 학대에 있어서는 어머니의 단독취업과 방의 공유상태와 같은 상황적 맥락 변수가 중요한 변수로 나타났다. 넷째, 신체적 학대에서는 아버지의 직업이 중요한 요인으로 나타났는데 일용직의 경우 관리직/공무원보다 신체적 학대의 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 다섯째, 방임과 정서적 학대에 있어서는 부모의 음주, 계부모 변수가 아동요인으로서는 학업성적 등이 중요한 변수로 나타났다. 따라서 이 결과를 바탕으로 본 논문은 다음과 같은 사회복지의 정책적 함의를 도출하였다. 첫째, 아동학대 예방 및 치료프로그램은 아동학대별로 차별적으로 접근해야 한다. 둘째, 아동학대의 치료와 예방은 부모뿐만 아니라 아동자신의 예방교육과 생활환경의 개선을 통해 가능하다. 셋째, 성적학대에 있어서는 어머니 부재 시의 아동보호의 문제가 중요하다. 이 논문은 아동학대의 유형별로 분리하여 분석하는 접근방법과 생태학적 접근을 통하여 아동학대의 부모위험요인과 다른 아동체계와의 관련성을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 특별히 본 연구에서 어머니의 취업과 아동학대와의 유의미한 관계를 발견한 것은 이론적으로 의미 있을 뿐만 아니라 아동복지정책과 실천에 중요한 의미를 던진다.
