The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among psychological variables of preservice teachers related to multicultural education and provide suggestions for multicultural teacher education. For this purpose, we investigate how intercultural sensitivity of secondary-level preservice teachers is influenced by their cultural dispositions. The data of 420 preservice teachers were analyzed through correlation, mean analysis, 2-way Analysis of Variance and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows. Vertical dispositions have a negative effect on their intercultural sensitivity, whereas horizontal dispositions have a positive effect. Individual and group dispositions of these preservice teachers also influence their sensitivity. The result of study suggests that teachers` cultural dispositions should be considered for establishing successful multicultural teacher education programs.
