장애인의 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 - 자아탄력성 및 사회적 지지를 중심으로 = A Study on Empowerment Level of the Disabled and Its Predictors: Focused on ego-resilience & social support

The purpose of this study is to examine empowerment level of the disabled and its predictors. Survey was conducted on 103 disabled students and 123 non-disabled students who attend at university. Collected data were analyzed, using hierarchical regression analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, and exploratory factor analysis.
Research findings were as follows: First, using 4 points scale, mean of empowerment of the disabled is 3.02. And the level of empowerment, ego-resilience & social support of the disabled appeared to be lower than that of the non-disabled. This means that the level of empowerment, ego-resilience & social support was significantly different on the existence of disability. Second, in relationship between empowerment and resilience, the disabled group showed a weak positive correlation. But, the non-disabled group showed a strong positive correlation. Third, the results of hierarchical regression analysis tell us that ego-resilience and social support are significant variables which influence on empowerment of the disabled. Social support-support of family & significant others-is the most influential factor on empowerment of the disabled.
Through the empirical analysis, this study provide valuable knowledge about empowerment of the disabled. And this study discuss the direction of future research & implications for strengthening empowerment & resilience of the disabled.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장애인의 임파워먼트 정도 및 영향요인을 탐색하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 장애대학생 103명과 비장애대학생 123명을 표집하여, 첫째 장애인의 임파워먼트, 자아탄력성 및 사회적지지의 수준, 둘째, 임파워먼트와 자아탄력성의 관계, 셋째, 장애인의 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇인지를 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 장애인의 임파워먼트는 평균 3.02(4점 만점)로 나타났으며, 비장애인과 비교할 때 임파워먼트, 사회적 지지는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 하위영역별로는 자아 이미지 임파워먼트와 친구 및 이웃의 지지가 장애유무에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 그러나 자아탄력성은 장애유무에 따른 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 장애인의 임파워먼트와 자아탄력성은 약한 정적 상관관계가 나타난 반면, 비장애인 집단은 높은 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 즉, 장애유무에 따라 이 두 개념의 관계 강도는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 공통적으로 두 개념이 상당히 밀접한 관련이 있는 개념임을 유추할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 장애인의 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 요인은 임파워먼트 하위요인마다 차이가 있었으나 임파워먼트 전체에 대한 Full model 분석결과 자아탄력성 및 사회적지지 중 가족 및 이웃의 지지가 영향요인으로 분석되었다. 그러나 그 정도는 개인의 성격자원인 자아탄력성보다 환경적 자원인 사회적 지지가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구는 임파워먼트와 자아탄력성 개념을 처음으로 '함께' 장애인에게 적용하여 개념간의 관련성을 탐색하고, 임파워먼트 영향요인을 밝히고 있다는 점에서 장애인복지학의 이론 구축(theory- building) 및 실천에 그 함의가 크다.
