지역사회자본과 가족 소득의 변화가 아동의 학업성취도 변화에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of the Neighborhood and Family Income Change on the Academic Achievement Change of Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study shows longitudinal influence that the change of family income and neighborhood environment causes the change of academic achievement of children. The analysis data for this study is a three-year data (Primary School 4 2004-2006, 2844 cases) of Korea Youth Panel Survey. And the analysis method is the latent growth curve modeling which is suitable for presuming the relation structure of longitudinal change between some compositive variable. As a result, first, it is viewed that the longitudinal change of family income and community social capital have an effect on the change of academic achievement. This study clearly verifies the causation between family income and academic achievement. Also, this study suggests that it should be more effective when social support is offered extensively.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 지역사회자본의 변화와 가족소득의 변화가 아동의 학업성취도 변화에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구의 분석을 위해 청소년패널 초4패널 3개년(2004～2006년, 2844사례)자료가 활용되었고, 분석방법은 변수 간 종단적인 변화의 관계 구조를 추정하는 데 적합한 분석 도구인 잠재성장 모형(latent growth curve modeling)이 사용되었다. 분석결과, 지역사회자본과 가족소득의 종단적인 변화는 학업성취도의 종단적인 변화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 지역사회자본 및 가족소득과 학업성취도의 종단적인 영향관계, 즉 인과적 관계를 보다 분명히 검증하였다는 의의를 갖는다. 또한 아동의 학업성취도 향상을 위해서는 아동이나 부모 등 개인을 대상으로 한 부분적인 접근보다는 가족과 지역사회를 동시에 고려한 포괄적인 사회적 지원이 필요함을 보여주었다.
