농협 계약재배를 통한 최저보장가격정책의 효과에 관한 사건연구 = An Event Study on the Minimum Price Support Programs

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study empirically examines whether the Minimum Price Support Programs (MPSP) helps to recover market prices from the plunge caused by overproduction of selected agricultural products. For this purpose, this paper develops and tests a hypothesis using an event study method with the data for the 1998-2007 period. Under the MPSP, the government purchases, insulates, or abolishes some of surplus agricultural products through contracts with National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. The results show that the rates of price change increase right after the governments` purchase and isolation of the products. thus providing evidence for supporting MPSP.
