인문학자의 사회적 실천 : 연구와 제도, 대중교육의 선순환을 위한 모색 = Humanities Scholars’ Social Practice: Seeking for Virtuous Circle between Research and ‘Public Education’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 실천인문학의 확산과 함께 다시 제기된 인문학과 인문학자의 ‘실천’에 대한 문제의식을 새로운 단계인 사회인문학적 실천으로 확장할 것을 제안한다. 사회적 실천을 하고자 하는 인문학자들이 참여하는 ‘대중교육’에서 인문학자와 대중양자는 지식을 생산하고 사회적 아젠다를 발굴하고 실현하는 주체로 성장해갈 수 있다. 인문학자들의 실천은 ‘대중교육’에 참여하여 자신의 연구를 확산하는 한편, 그 과정에서 얻는 통찰과 경험을 대학과 학계의 제도와 활동의 개혁으로 연결하고, 자신의 연구주제와 방법을 변화시키는 선순환을 일으킬 때 가능해진다. 대중교육과정에서 대중도 자신이 주체로서 참여함으로써 스스로를 삶의 주체이자 자기 현장을 개선하는 주체로서 변화해갈 수 있다. 이것이 가능한 대중교육의 틀을 만들어가기 위해서는 인문학자만이 아니라 여러 영역의 활동집단과의 연대가 필요하다. 이 연구는 대학의 안팎에 있는 연구단체들을 통해 많은 연구자들이 참여할 수 있는 연구자 네트워크를 만들고, 전문적인 대중교육활동을 하는 시민단체가 대중교육의 장을 유지관리하고, 지역주민들이 스스로 자신들에게 필요한 교육의 주제를 발굴하는 연대구조를 만들 것을 제안한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Humanities and humanities scholars’ practice with expansion of the Practical Humanities got into practice of Social Humanities, a new stage. Through ‘public humanities education’, both humanities scholars and the public can grow up to be a subject to produce knowledge and to find social agenda. Humanities scholars’ practice can be realized by expanding their researches through participation in ‘public humanities education’ and applying insight and experience from the above process to reforming the system and activity of universities and academic world and causing virtuous circle to change their study themes and methods. In the process of public education, the public can also be changed to be a subject of their life and one to improve their field by participating as a subject. To construct a frame of public education to make it possible to carry out the above, it is necessary to be banded together with activity groups in diverse fields as well as humanities scholars. The study is thought that it is necessary to make a scholars’ network to participate a lot of scholars through research groups in/out of university, to make structure of solidarity to let citizen’s groups for professional activity of public education maintain and manage a field of public education and to let community residents find themes of education required to themselves in person.
