지적장애 초등 여학생을 위한 성폭력 예방 교육 프로그램의 효과 = The Effectiveness of a Sexual Abuse Prevention Program on Elementary School Students with Intellectual Disabilities

The current study evaluated the effectiveness of a sexual abuse prevention program for elementary school students with intellectual disabilities. Four female students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities participated in the study. The program taught to them body ownership, body parts (private parts), discrimination between appropriate and inappropriate touches, and sexual abuse prevention skills. The program was evaluated in a multiple probe design across subjects. Result showed that all students learned the prevention skills and the enhancement of the skills was maintained for 8-9 weeks. In addition, the students fully generalized the skills to the natural settings. The findings suggest that the sexual abuse prevention program can be effective with elementary school female students with intellectual disabilities and feasibility of extending such programs to the elementary school-aged population.
