공론화를 위한 청치평론의 두 전략 = 비판전략과 매개전략

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 정치평론을 통해 정치현상에 접근하는 정치적 실천방식을 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 정치평론의 ‘공론화 전략’으로 표현하면서 그 의미를 살펴보고자 한다. 정치평론과 정치선전은 서로 다른 정치적 글쓰기의 방식이다. 정치평론이 공론화를 목표로 삼는 반면에 정치선전은 세력화를 목표로 삼는다. 공론화를 통한 정치적 실천을 지향하는 정치평론은 독자나 청중과 더불어 공명하고 성찰함으로써 사회적 공감대를 확산하고자 한다. 나아가 올바른 공론을 형성하기 위해 정치평론은 독자나 청중의 정치적 경험을 확대하고자 하는데, 이를 정치평론의 ‘공론화 전략’이라고 부른다. 정치평론의 공론화 전략은 비판전략과 매개전략이라는 두 가지 유형으로 구분할 수 있는데, 이 논문에서는 오웰(George Orwell)을 중심으로 비판전략을 고찰하고 리프만(Walter Lippmann)을 중심으로 매개 전략을 고찰한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper reviews the method of political critique. It aims to understand the meaning of the ‘strategy for public judgement’ of political critique. This paper argues that political critique pursues the public judgement while political propaganda pursues the organization of power. Many a political critique tries to diffuse the resonance with readers and to enrich the experience of readers to enlighten public opinion in various methods which can be called ‘the strategy for public judgement’. There are two types of the strategy for public judgement. One is the strategy of criticism and the other is the strategy of mediation. The former is the method of George Orwell’s political writings and the latter is the method of Walter Lippmann’s. This paper studies the two strategies of political critique.
