경제적 압박감이 빈곤아동의 학교생활과 문제행동에 미치는 영향 = The Impact of Economic Pressure on School Life and Problem Behavior of Poor Children: Focusing on Family Risk Variables and Verification of Mediating Effect of Negative Parental Role

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 가정의 경제적 압박감이 아동의 학교생활과 문제행동에 미치는 과정을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 데이터 중 2006년도 1차년도 데이터를 사용하여 분석하였다. 구조방정식을 분석한 결과, 경제적 스트레스와 아동의 학교생활과 문제행동에 대한 영향 관계는 가족 위험변인과 부정적 부모역할을 매개로 하여 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아동발달 영역에 따라 발달경로가 달라, 아동의 학교적응에는 경제적 압박감의 직접효과가 컸다면, 아동의 문제행동에서는 경제적 압박감과 아동의 문제행동 간의 관계에 부부 갈등, 부모의 심리적 복지와 부모 역할 등의 가족요인들의 기능 저하 경로를 통해 매개되는 간접효과가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 경제적 압박감이 아동의 학교생활과 문제 행동에 미치는 영향은 가구가 일반 가구인지 저소득층 가구인지에 따라 차이가 있었다. 우선 경제적 압박감이 아동의 학교생활과 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 경로는 일반 가정의 경우 상대적으로 부부 갈등이 큰 매개 효과를 가지는 반면 저소득 가구에서는 부모 우울이 큰 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 일반 가구에 비해 저소득 가구에서 경제적 압박감이 아동의 학교생활과 문제행동에 직접적인 영향이 큰 반면 부부 갈등, 부모 우울, 부정적 부모역할을 매개로 하는 매개효과는 일반 가구에서 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과에 따른 사회복지의 함의가 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study was to examine the process of how family economic pressure impacts a child`s school life and problem behavior. To do so, the first year data of 2006 from Korea Welfare Panel Study data was used for analysis. The structural equation analysis results showed that impact of economic stress on a child`s school life and problem behavior on was made through the mediation of family risk factors and negative parental role. The developmental path differs depending on the child development area, and the economic pressure had large direct impact on adaptation to school life. On the other hand, as for problem behavior, there was large indirect impact mediated through the path of functional deterioration of familial factors, such as spousal conflict, parental psychological welfare and parental role, on the relationship between economic pressure and problem behavior. There was a significant difference in the impact of economic pressure on a child`s school life and problem behavior depending on whether the child`s household was average in income level or poor. First of all, for an average household, spousal conflict had relatively high mediating effect on the path of impact by economic pressure on a child`s school life and problem behavior, whereas, for a poor family, parental depression had greater mediating effect. Furthermore, the economic pressure had greater direct impact on a child`s school life and problem behavior for a poor family compared to an average household, while the mediation effect of spousal conflict, parental depression and negative parental role was shown to be greater for an average household. Lastly, social welfare implications from the study results were discussed.
