특수교육연구에 있어 개념도 연구법의 적용가능성 탐색 = Methodological Implications of Concept Mapping for Research about Special Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to verify the applicability of concept mapping in the research of special education. Concept mapping can be considered a structured methodology for organizing the ideas of a group or organization, to bring together diverse groups of stakeholders and help them rapidly form a common framework that can be used for planning, evaluation, or both. It can be considered a type of integrated mixed method because its qualitative and quantitative components are inextricably interwoven to enable a diverse group of stakeholders to articulate their ideas and represent them in a variety of quantitatively derived visual results(concept map, pattern matches, value plots) that can be used in reaching both awareness of the issues at hand and agreement on how to proceed. Though concept mapping has a few disadvantage, we could apply the method in actual research of special education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 특수교육연구에 있어서 개념도 연구법의 적용가능성을 탐색하는 것이다. 개념도 연구법은 집단의 구조화된 논의를 촉진해주는 질적인 과정과 다양한 이해관계자들이 상호 협력적으로 논의한 주제에 대한 개념구성을 개념지도(concept map)로 보여주고 동시에 통계 분석도 병행하는 질적·양적 혼합방법(mixed-methods)접근이다. 개념도 연구법은 질적 방법을 통해 이해관계자들이 생각하는 풍부한 경험적 자료를 이끌어내고, 양적인 방법을 활용하여 체계적으로 정보의 개념적 조직화와 구조화를 해석하기 때문에 조사자와 평가자, 기획가들에게 유용한 도구로 활용되고 있다. 현재까지 진행된 개념도 연구법은 신뢰도와 타당도에 대한 직접적인 검증의 어려움, 참여자의 특성과 촉진자의 특성을 통제할 수 없는데 따르는 오류들, 어떻게 그들이 다른 집단의 사람들과 관련되고 중요시되어져야 하는지의 대표성 문제 등 일정정도 한계를 가지고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 다양한 이해관계자가 개입하는 특수교육관련 분야에서 복잡하고 어려운 개념을 서로가 이해하기 쉽도록 구조화하고, 효율적이고 합리적인 수평적 의사결정을 함께 생각하여 합의를 이끄는 개념도 연구법은 적극 활용할 만한 가치가 있다.
