This was a quantitative study of 265 older adults age 60 years and older living in their house in Daegu. The results indicated significant associations between social support and satisfaction of life. Higher levels of overall support and family support tended to be associated with satisfaction of life. A significant association was found between family support and the others of life satisfaction. Overall, the findings suggested that family support has a positive effect on the well-being of the elderly. Future studies are recommended to explore this topic further in order to establish causal relationship between social support and wellness among the elderly.
