The purpose of this study was to investigate the students' preference types of science writing in elementary school. The preference types of science writing held by students across the grade levels and gender were investigated. The subjects of this study were 253 elementary school students. The major results are as follows; (1) Students show positive reaction in science writing and the lower grade students are the more preference generally. (2) Schoolgirls show higher preference than schoolboys in all science writing types. (3) Favor types of elementary students are keeping in the balloon, imagination writing, brainstorming writing and story making writing, however frequency of that is low in the textbook. Through the results, the present position of science writing is comprehended and more systematic education process in science writing could be presented at the elementary education curriculum.
