국내 제조기업의 기술혁신 결정요인 중요도 분석 : 조직 내부역량과 외부환경을 중심으로 = A Study of Critical Factors for Technological Innovation of Korean Manufacturing Firms

국문 초록 (Abstract)

기술혁신이 기업의 지속가능한 경쟁력의 원천으로 인식되면서, 기업차원에서 기술혁신에 대한 다양한 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 대부분의 기존연구들이 기술혁신의 결정요인 도출에 집중해왔으나 이들 결정요인들의 중요도와 추진상의 우선순위를 객관적으로 분석하는 연구는 미흡하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 기술혁신활동과 관련한 결정요인들을 계층적 구조로 모형화 하고 객관적인 분석을 통해 개별 요인들의 중요도를 파악함으로써 기술혁신을 효과적으로 추진하고자 하는 기업들에게 결정요인간의 전략적 우선순위를 제안하고자 한다. 계층구조는 조직 내부역량과 조직 외부환경을 상위요인으로 하였으며, 리더십, 조직구조, 조직문화, 조직지원을 조직 내부역량의 하위요인으로, 정부지원, 기술환경, 수요조건, 경쟁자를 조직 외부환경의 하위요인으로 설정하였다.
분석 결과, 상위 요인간의 상대적 중요도를 살펴보면, 조직 내부역량(62.3%)이 조직외부환경(37.7%)에 비해 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있으며, 하위요인의 경우에는 리더십(19.2%), 조직문화(15.9%), 조직지원(15.3%), 수요조건(13.0%), 조직구조(11.9%), 기술환경(10.1%), 경쟁자(8.7%), 정부지원(5.9%)의 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 성공적인 기술혁신활동을 위한 효율적인 자원 배분의 기초자료를 제공하고 나아가 기업의 효과적인 기술혁신전략을 수립하는데 유용한 시사점을 제공한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In recent years, many organizations have looked upon technological innovation as the means by which they could maintain a competitive edge. Despite previous academic efforts to examine determinants of innovation, an AHP(analytic hierarchy process) based study of critical factors for innovation implementation in the context of Korean manufacturing firms has rarely been analysed. This paper tries to fill this gap by investigating the critical factors and sub-factors that determine the implementation of technological innovation. It incorporates the main findings of a recent study, in which an AHP approach was employed to prioritize the relative importance of two critical factors and eight sub-factors in terms of firms' internal capability and external environment. Th findings advocate that firms would stress the internal capability factor rather than external environmental factors around firms for technological innovation. Leadership, organizational culture and management support are among the most important sub-factors. The results suggests a generic hierarchy model for firms to prioritize the critical factors and formulate strategies for implementing technological innovation.
