스포츠윤리 담론의 한계와 과제에 대한 고찰 = A study on the discussion in sport ethic

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 스포츠 상황의 급변은 많은 윤리적 문제를 양산하고 있다. 도핑과 승부조작, 스포츠도박 등은 스포츠 가치의 근간을 뒤흔드는 매우 심각한 문제들이다. 그러나 이런 문제에 대한 우리 학회의 담론과 대처는 반드시 논리적 정합성을 갖는다고 보기 어렵다. 현상에 대한 표면적 분석과 윤리학 이론에 기댄 섣부른 계몽적 결론으로 이루어진 기존의 논문들은 학문적 깊이와 자기반성적 실천을 간과해 왔다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 지금까지 논의되어 왔던 스포츠윤리학의 담론을 거시적 관점에서 비판적으로 분석해 본 것이다. 이를 위해 스포츠규범의 정당화 논의, 스포츠윤리의 실천 윤리적 위상, 그리고 스포츠윤리의 교육적 가능성이라는 세 가지의 주제를 중심으로 기존의 스포츠윤리학 담론이 갖는 한계와 이를 극복하기 위한 과제가 무엇인지를 철학적 관점에서 논의를 전개하였다. 먼저 스포츠에서 발생하는 도덕적 요청은 규범의 선험성에 있는 것이 아니라 도덕성의 원리를 찾으려는 치밀한 논의에 의해 획득되는 것이라는 점을 명확히 하였다. 도덕성의 원리는 스포츠윤리를 실천적 영역으로 규정할 경우에도 그대로 적용되는 것으로, 규범에 대한 반성적 사유 없이 실천을 요구하는 것은 강제에 지나지 않는다는 점을 분명히 하였다. 끝으로 교육으로서의 윤리가 스포츠에서 요구되는 윤리적 행동에 대한 반성적 사고를 거쳐 보편적 도덕 법칙이 무엇인지를 찾고 실천하게 만드는 작업이라는 점을 강조함으로써, 스포츠윤리학의 당위성과 외연은 결국 학문적 연구의 깊이에 의해 획득되어진다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently, many ethical problems have arisen around sport. Recent increases in doping, match fixing, and gambling have sullied the value of sport and present the future of sport with serious problems. However, the methods so far offered by our society to resolve such problems are not logically sufficient. The existing studies which reveal the external analysis of the present condition and an illuminative conclusion have overlooked both the academic depth of the problem as well as the basis of practice. This study analyzes the arguments on existing sport ethics critically from a philosophical viewpoint. In order to justify the limits and foci of current studies, this study focuses on three questions: 1) What is the basis of the justification of normative sport ethics? 2) What is the meaning of practical ethics in sport performance? And 3) How we can uncover the educational possibilities inherent in sport ethics? Initially, we find that the moral appropriateness required in sport is not based on the apriority of a norm, but instead relies on precise logical study to determine the true principle of morality. The principle of morality also offers a logical base from which we may explore and specifically define the practical character of sport ethics. Clearly, practice based solely on norms, without reflection on a norm, is just compulsion. We increase the value of education in sport when we manage to employ reflexive thinking about universal ethics and moral behavior through one's practice.
