유아의 학습관련 기본능력에 영향을 미치는 변인 구조분석 = A structural analysis of variables affecting young children's basic Learning-related abilities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아의 학습관련 기본능력에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인에 대한 이론적 근거를 바탕으로, 유아의 학습관련 기본능력과 관련 변인 간의 관계는 어떠한 구조를 나타내는지 밝히는 동시에 유아의 성에 따른 조절 효과는 어떠한지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 변인 간의 관계를 살펴보기 위해, 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였으며 남·여 집단 간 차이를 알아보기 위하여 조절효과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째 유아의 학습관련 기본능력과 부모의 양육행동, 유아의 학습관련 사회적 기술, 유아의 자아존중감과의 구조적 관계에서, 유아의 자아존중감은 유아의 학습관련 기본능력인 수학능력과 언어능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치고, 부모의 양육행동은 학습관련 사회적 기술에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 양육행동, 유아의 자아존중감은 유아의 학습관련 사회적 기술을 매개로 유아의 학습관련 기본능력인 언어, 수학능력에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 부모의 양육행동은 유아의 학습관련 기본능력인 언어, 수학능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 둘째, 유아의 학습관련 기본능력 변인으로 구성된 구조모형에서 "성" 조절 변수는 남·여 간에 조절 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 유아의 학습관련 기본능력에 영향을 미치는 주요 변인인 학습관련 사회적 기술을 증진시킬 수 있는 교수전략 및 실천 방안의 모색이 요구된다.

This study examines the structural relationship between young children's basic learning-related abilities (mathematics, language) and selected variables (parental child-rearing behavior, children's learning-related social skills, children's self-esteem) to ascertain if and how they affect basic learning-related abilities. This study also aims to determine whether or not gender differences have a modifying effect on children's basic learning-related abilities. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Analysis was the methodology used to clarify the relationships among the variables and to determine any modifying effects due to gender differences. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Young children's self-esteem and learning-related social skills had direct influence on their basic learning-related basic abilities, while parental child-rearing behavior and children's self-esteem had an indirect impact on the children's basic learning-related abilities only through the medium of the children's learning-related social skills. Also, in this study parental child-rearing behavior was not found to directly influence the children's basic learning-related abilities. 2) In the hypothetically equated structural model consisting of variables affecting young children's basic learning-related abilities, gender differences were found to have no moderating effects. This indicates that there are no differences in basic learning-related abilities between male and female children. In view of these findings, it is recommended that teaching strategies and practical guidelines aimed at the maximum development of children's learning-related basic abilities should concentrate on improving learning-related social skills. So, it is required the development of the teaching strategies and practical guidances to improve children's learning-related social skills that has direct influence on their basic learning-related basic abilities.
